Social networking
Got bored the other day and I decided to sacrifice my Yahoo account some more by joining up with a three more social networking sites: Orkut, Facebook, Friendster and LinkedIn. Facebook is somewhat similar to Friendster, but the interface looks cleaner, much more than that of MSN Spaces and Yahoo 360. And I found more friends than I ever got compared to Orkut. I find Friendster to be a bit yuckier than that of Facebook. If Google decides to buy anything, I think Facebook should be the winner. I did find some of my old friends from my first high school in Friendster -- that's about the only saving grace for it. Otherwise, giving CSS control to the users just made it look really tacky. I think I didn't get too many connections in Orkut because only cool people get Google accounts. j/k LinkedIn was interesting, I made contact with some of my older university classmates. I was actually able to find an old friend and referred my new friend who was looking for a job in his group because LinkedIn reminded me that he even existed. So, even though it doesn't help me, I hope it helps my friend.
