Gamers vs Watson

I was thinking recently of the game where IBM Watson beat human players in Jeopardy.  Then I was thinking of fold.it, Phylo and how gamers were  able to solve problems that even stumped scientists with supercomputers.

I wonder who would win:  Watson vs. a crowdsourced system in Jeopardy or even chess.

My guess: I think the crowdsourced system may win, but not at first it has to adapt to each other and somehow figure out how to quickly sieve to get to the right answer.

Even if we lose, at the very least, we humans will always beat machines at Calvinball.
